GREETINGS EVERYONE,
In fairness to all shooters here, i believe we need a panel of judges to make rulings on shooting matters.
The number of judges is up to you, and the number of judges we can attract.
If we do not do something to deal with these questions, and settle any problems, these questions and problems will just continue.
I know one person can perform this job, but I feel that a panel would beless bias.
This is for all matches, please respond with your opinions.
Thanks,
Bill

What issues? What questions and problems? How do you judge mail-in results. I could fake every target that I send, but I would only be fooling myself. I shoot the matches to improve my accuracy. (It seems that I concentrate a little better when trying to shoot my best score). Is there something other than pride in your shooting as a reward here? Maybe I am missing the point, but I just shoot these matches for fun. Please explain. Thanks, Dave

I don't think we need judges. Didn't mean to imply it with any of my earlier posts. We are all judges.

And I might add that I feel I am a good judge of character...:)

Well there have been questions on scoring, target placement, changing targets during a match, shooting targets with black centers vs white centers etc.
I'm quite aware that this is a e-mail match, and personal honor is all we have, as far asthe scores and targets are concerned.
If wegoby NRA Rules, nothing can be changed ortouched during a league or a match.
All I am trying to do is keep thing fair, friendly and simple !
But trying to get the members of the match involved to respond to these questions, that are inserted in other comments concerning the match, has beenimpossible so far.

Tommy, I think what Bill means are "officials" rather than "judges". I see no need for "judges" either. However, "officials" would have benefits to the forum members - providing education and insight to members. Many here have never shot competition, so a little "official" help would be nice. Officials might decide on the rules for shooting a given postal match and provide "official" answers to members questions regarding guidelines. I think having a small group of "officials" to answer questions about matches would be a benefit. I suggest three "officials" just to have enough people available to promptly answer questions. George
