well....found a benjamin 397 in .177 for $40 locally.....and yes, i bought it. why ? for one its an older model, great shape witha bit of surface rusting a nd few nicks here and there. grins why not ? anyway,...that being said , who has a link to decent scope mount ? b-square used to have a nice rear mount, but that seems to be nla. id rather not use a long eye relief scope on this..
thanks in advance guys...

Keep an eye out on the Yellow. Dave Rose has posted the older two-piece mounts on and off. I have a couple and they work well. Or you could get a peep. Even better, since the later guns weigh a bit more and the scope ads to that.

thank you sir; this may get as addicting as the centerfire stuff; and with the kids would be a heck of a lot less expensive !!

PyramiydAir offers a "Venturi" mount based on the Picatinny/Weaver rail system. I like it alot better than the intermounts offered from Crosman. They (the Venturis) do set high so if you prefer a scope set low to the action,..I'd recommend low rings. Of course, you can send it to Mac 1 and have the doves cut into the bolt ,...if you really want to customize an old rifle. I'd opt for the rail myself, but that's just my opinion,,....for antiquity reasons only. I hear Mac1 can turn the Benji's into monsters!!!!! tjk

Well, I did some tallying the other night........and my air gun $$$$$ are within a few bucks of my fireburner $$$$$. Don't fool yourself. They are like Lays Potato Chips - betcha can't buy just one! :D

tjk,..thanks a million, i looked at this mount as well as the "Benjamin Sheridan Air Rifles B272 and Leapers 1-Pc Offset Mount" both appear to raise the scope, i belive a cheekpad ala the old m-1 garand would help out
