: Gamo Hunter Pellets
: Bogey June 08, 2009, 01:13:02 AM
I bought several tins of Gamo Pellets recently mainly for the purpose of breaking in a Crosman Storm. (because of price)   These pellets are not the prettiest things I have ever seen but I did not expect to find many tiny lead slugs in the tin.  They are cup shaped with no skirts or domes.  They appear to have taken a beating along with the other actual pellets.

Do I have plans to complain to Gamo in Spain?   Nooooooooooooooooooo.    I do not wish to disturb their coffee breaks.

But I will say this,  Crosman Pellets must have better quality control on their pellets production.

It's shooting great on my D-18 Canadian Hunter, should be great for breaking in a new springer.

I've had great result's with the Hunter's as far as accuracy, my ShadowSport.22 and QB78 love em. The quality of the pellet's in the tins can be hit and miss though but they have been accurate in my shooter's. As far as killing power, depends on the critter, was whacking P-dogs at 40+ yrds some dropped and some made it back to their holes. :0 I switched to Predator's, none made it back to their holes. :) Ed

What is in the tin that I opened are not pellets at all.  That is the problem.  They are smooth sided lead cups.  All they need is  a handle to be a micro coffee cup.  Not shootable at all.

And many of these slugs are mashed out of roundness.

Forget the Gamo's,...personally I never cared for them,..or Crosman pellets (except the Destryoers). To me the best pellets are the JSB's, RWS's, and Beemans. And in that order. tjk

I had been using the hunters for quite a while on my B3 and tf97 and they were pretty good for the price.  I ran out.  My b26 really likes something heavier.  Anyway, I bought some more hunters.  the mold must have changed or something because now they are a very tight fit.  They all look good but you have really press them in there.

Sounds like quality control is not kinda iffy.

I need to drop by sportsmans wharehouse again.

I just got a sampler pack with them and they are so loose that they kept falling out of the barrel if I pointed it down.  Awful!!!

hmmm.  there must be a story here.  I bet that they changed suppliers or something like that.  I suppose we should let them know somehow so they can  pay more attention to outgoing quality.
