: Bore x Stroke = FPE
: cfxdragon January 18, 2010, 03:00:35 PM
I am curious if there is a list of bore and stroke measurements for common springers anywhere. I would especially like to know about the bore and stroke of the magnums, hunter extreme, 350M, patriot, falcon hunter, super streak. But I am also interested in others like Diana 34 and the extremely common gamo power plant.

Though the spring has an impact on the end tune and what the actual FPE is, the bore and stroke are the limiting factor as to what the MAXIMUM power available to a springer is. It seems like most springers shoot the smoothest and most accurate when tuned a bit below their max though and I am not looking to make a huge powerhouse. I am really interested in having a .25 cal springer and I am trying to decide if I want to put a custom barrel on a Diana 350, or do other mods to a .25 hunter extreme, or a custom stock to a super streak.

Like engines, there's no replacement for displacement, and if you run them at redline constantly they're gonna' break!

Might search on a couple of forums. Displacement data comes up occasionally but not for ever gun each time. You can try under "swept volume", too. No matter how large the volume and heavy the spring, it depends upon the bore (caliber) and transfer port, as well. Can only push air so fast.

Bore & stroke are the swept volume of the chamber..
The power out put is dependent on so meany factors
bore & stroke is only a very small amount....

To work out the sweept volume...

3.1415927 X Radius X Radius X Stroke = CC
