: The B26-2 saga is over. (Hopefully)

Well, the third B26-2 arrived last Monday from Best Airguns. The first one was damaged in shipping. The second one shot fine at first, but then started smoking really bad, and the accuracy became very bad. It turned out to be a metal fragment that was sticking out of the bottom of the compression chamber that cut a notch in the piston seal.

After the second one had to go back, I was very disappointed and considering a refund, but Mike assured me that all would be taken care of, just send it back. He also said he would send me an XS-B12 as a gift. Well 2 days later, there is a brand new, tuned, B12 sitting at my front door, I didn't even ship out the bad gun yet. Needless to say, I was extremely surprised, impressed and happy. I didn't think people did business like that anymore.

I didn't have a box big enough to send the whole gun back because I had thrown out the original box, So mike said to send the action back without the stock, the shipping would cost less, and the possibility of the stock being damaged would be eliminated. A week later I receive a new rifle with a beautiful high comb stock, the old seal that was damaged, and the complete barrel assembly from the old gun. Again, I was surprised by Mike's generosity. I called Mike and told him not only does he have a loyal customer, but a friend for life. What a Guy!

I shot a couple hundred pellets in the house this week to season the barrel and seal. I took it outside for a 10 meter shooting session this morning. @ cups of coffee didn't help much, but the gun shoots good. I shot 12 five shot groups with 4 different brands of pellets, and they all can be covered with a dime. Not bad.

Here are some pics of the bad seal, everything that Mike sent me, and the target I shot this morning. I think it all turned out good in the end, snookman

Nice looking guns you got there. Sounds like Mike went well above and beyond to make things right. But that does not suprise me, he's that kinda guy. Hows the B12? I've always been intrigued by them.

Hey Nathan, The B12 is a nice, moderate powered rifle. I like the ease of cocking, it is quiet, and the accuracy is good, but the trigger takes some getting used to. I am shooting groups that are just bigger than a dime at 10M with the fiber optic open sights that come with the gun, But I do get a few fliers because of the trigger.

I was talking to Mike Melick about the B12 and he said he built one with a Rekord trigger and sent it to Xisico to see if they would upgrade it. That would make the B12 a perfect gun, and I want one. lol.

I think I will keep the open sights for now and keep working at the 10m range. Good shooting, snookman

How do you like the B30 .22? Looking into purchasing one from Mike. Powerful enough to take down a coyote?

It's a fine rifle I just don't use it enough and it's a real power house too. It should have enough power to go through a 1 inch pine board I don't think I would be shooting the neighbors dogs unless I wanted them dead . Howie

Snookman, as always, Mike Melick is a good guy to work with. Congrats on your new B26. On the side, would you be interested in selling one of your spare stock B26-2? I'm planning to work on a new stock design with wooden end caps as I have not tried doing that on a gunstock yet. Thanks!

I have an original high comb B26-2 stock from one of our GTA friends.

It is exactly the same as the original, that I once carved and abusedinto a Tyrolean. I was thinking about trying another one some day, but if you're seriously interested, let me know. There is enough stock to do some fun things but it still has the original Chicom finish, and is just the way it came off the rifle.

I had $40 in the stock but Mike may have one gathering dust. If so, take his. If not, I have one.

Oh and I don't think this would fit a B3. The two really have nothing in common except for the people's republic of origin! This is basically an R9 clone stock. They used very decent wood on them by Chinese standards, better than most, for sure.
