Got a flyer today and they have new Gamo 890's ( that's real wood and steel) for $109. Got one on the way. The man said when there gone they are gone. They were $199 back in the day.

Tha is a real steal Walt... Natchez has great prices on guns and scopes once in while. I got my Hunter 440 for $119.00 two years ago.

That is a good deal. And the best part is that they will all have the original Theoben triggers  in them and not the plastic triggers.

I have  an 890 tucked away in the back of the gun safe..... probably one of my favorite GAMO's,,,  nice stock and a darn good shooter....

How is this Gamo different from the ones available today?

The internal parts of the power plant are the same but the Gamo 890 has a full steel barrel and breech instead of a poly covered thin barrel sleeve. It also has a theoben style metal triger instead of a plastic trigger group. The GRT-III trigger will work in the metal trigger but not the plastic triggers.

Pindog
I was trying to figure out the date codes on Gamo's on a recent post I put up. I bought a Gamo 220 reman' and the serial ended in -98. I had a hard time bringing myself around to the fact I may have received a 12 year old rifle. After the comments I got back I believe my 220 did start life 12 years ago. But with the factory referb and my own referb of the gun I am declaring it as good as new. I see the serial you listed is all numeric, the Gamo's I have are a alpha numeric combination and I think the last two digits are the year of manufacture. I have three Gamo's currently with one more on the way. On all three the serial code looks like this. 04-C1 XXXXXX-XX. Then each rifle has a different last two numbers that I think represents the year of manufacture. One of my 220's is - 98, 04-C1 XXXXXX-98, the other is 04-C1 XXXXXX-04 and my hunter Elite is 04-C1 XXXXXX-07. Check  your serial again. My best guess is the last two are the DOM. Make any sense?
