Participated in the AZ State FT Championship this past weekend. I finished tied for 3rd( Last, haha) with a score of 20 out of 80 shots, with the class winner shooting 37/80. Used my S1K and shot against 2 HW-97 and 1-TX-200. ( Yes, there is a "dark side to this thread). Well, I guess the match champion, Steve Montgomery, decided I need a better gun to shoot, so he gave me the BSA Ultra .177 Carbine he won in the club raffle, which was donated by BSA through its' distributor, Airguns of Arizona. I was overwhelmed and brought to tears by his generousity. I shoot with a tremendous bunch of people; helpful, knowledgeable, caring and friendly!. Now I need to get a tank and a fill assembly( another member of the GTA, Jim Russell [jbruss] has offered the use of an extra tank he has. The airgunning community has been so gracious and supportive this past year that I've been a part of it. I can't say enough good things about all the people! I'll post a link to the results when I get the pics downloaded to our club secretary and he posts them on the "Green" FT Forum. Ric G

Awsome little rifle Ric, but then, I am fond of BSA's. Sounds like you have a great bunch of people to shoot with in your club.

Thanks, Stephanie. I'm lucky to be associated with them.

Those are excellent little rifles. My brother used one over the last year for target and hunting. He has now sold it but he did well with it while he had it.

You'll find that most FT Clubs have a great bunch of people, a PCP is NOT needed. But they sure are nice to have, it cuts the learning curve waaaaay down. I started with a crooked barrelled Bam, now I've been blessed to have a few really nice rifles. It's all in good fun, as long as you dont beat yourself up on score you'll have a good time.

It'll be interesting shooting a PCP, after 9 months and 3 matches with the Gamo. After shooting all my friends' rifles, I know it's gonna be easier, even with a carbine! Just have to get a tank and fill assembly and I'll be blasting( quietly) in the backyard.

Glad to see you so happy Ric..:) It brings back memories of when I first started. Our air gun community sure has a bunch of wonderful peeps. And that is one of the reasons I wanted to start up the GTA. To give back to the cummunity that weened me into this fabulouse sport/hobby. Also the fact that Bob aka CDT took me under his arm and brought me along slowly in order to get a much better understanding of how everything works and why..:) I am honored to be part of the air gun community and very appreciative of the fact that most all put up with me.. hehehe
