FT clubs near WNC?

Anyone know of any FT clubs near western NC? I'd like to start  shooting FT. The closest place I've found so far is Atlanta, which is about 4 hours from me. I'd like to find a club in western NC, eastern TN, of upstate SC. Any help would be appreciated.
Also: Does one have to join a club to shoot, or can I just show up? Is a national membership required? I've been on the national site, and I plan on joining as an associate member. Other than practice, what else do I need to do?

You might check over on the Yellow Forum as there was a group of fellows in the Asheville region who started one up last year ... I had offered them the use of my property in East TN but they thought it would be a bit too far for most of them to travel.

Thanks Mick. I think that was the WNCAGC. I joined, but they dissolved a few months later, due to a lack of participation. I did put a post up on the yellow ft forum.  A couple guys there have been helpful-one even suggested trying to start a club. I know there are FT guys here as well. Maybe someone will chime in with some info on how to get started.
