Did we ever clarify target size?
« on: February 14, 2009, 02:34:25 AM »
The downloaded 5 bull target measures as follows for me: center white is approx. 15/16" or 25 mm, rings are just under 1/4" wide, or 11 mm.  From the looks of some of the targets being shot, the single Gamo is larger, but that's just a guess.  Like someone else, I can't find the Gamo target locally, and haven't had a chance to order any yet.  Has someone measured the Gamo, and I just missed it?  If so, can someone point me in the right direction, or repost it here?  Just want to be sure we're all shooting apples, instead of apples and grapefruits :-).  Thanks.

Went and checked out the Gamo target on PA's site, based on my fairly good eyeball, they're close enough as to not matter.  I'm sticking with the downloaded targets.  Later.

I just measured the Gamo cardboard targets.
The target is 5.5 in square.  The 10 ring is .5 in diametre The center white bull is 1in (9+10 rings). .  Each concentric ring is .25 in.

Thanks, Tommy, that fits with my guesstimate, and matches my downloaded target well enough for my accuracy level ;-).  Messed with some guns last night, better get some practice in to see what they're doing now.  Later.

I got the ring diameters from a friend, and I can print the targets 6x from the 4 ring in.
But the target program will only print to a printer.
Anyone know of how I can print to a graphic file / create a PDF file?

Which Target Program are you using (or what's the website)?

If I missed it in an earlier post, I apologize.

The only variation I see is that the downloaded "Gamo" targets have a 5 mm black dot in the center of the 10-ring of the bull.  The cardboard Gamo targets out of the box do not.  Doesn't seem like a big deal, but a 5 mm black dot in the center of a 1-inch white 9-10 ring is a distinct advantage if one shoots diopter sights.  Next match, I plan to alter my target and add the black dot to the center, unless everyone else is shooting targets witout the center dot.

PDF Output

There's a program called Nova PDF Lite that loads as a printer driver and "outputs" a PDF file.  Very slick, and very precise, I've used it to turn some of my targets into PDF's and the scale stays accurate.  Don't remember just where I found it, but it's freeware.  If you don't have any luck, let me know and I'll try and backtrack to where I found it.  Later.

Thanks Dave, I'll give it a try.  Should be able to do a search and find it.
