I knew this would happen...
« on: March 26, 2009, 05:58:40 AM »

I just didn't know that Pyramyd Air would be the one to steal our IDEA.
I guess the Yellow couldn't do it without injuring their pride.  All said and done
I guess you had a pretty good idea, starting the "Postal Target Matches".

I got this Email this morning, if I know what I'm doing here's the pic:

Hey I did it!

It's hard to keep a good idea down! I've seen postal matchs on quite a few sites but I enjoy shooting here because I prefer shooting against people who are family like us. Then we can all have a good chin wag about how bad we shot or the outstanding performance by one of the Brothers (or Sisters, BTW where is Charlotte?) or tips on how to improve. But, good on Pyramyd for helping get people into the sport, the more people who shoot with a passion, the harder it will be to push us under the carpet!

I wholeheartedly agree with ya Truman.  In fact, Pyramyd's sister site [I'm calling it] "http://www.airgunarena.com" is very informative.  Check out the reviews sections; hundreds of them, I found a couple of things I was looking for right off!  My post wasn't really an expose' type post, just a let everyone know post, LOL.  I figured that I would be embarrassed because someone would tell me "Oh, they've had that for years, or something to that effect.

Thanks for your reply, I was beginning to think no one cared. Boo hoo

We all care Roy. Don't worry about being embarrassed, I do it every time I post my match scores but nobody pokes me about it! We're family, that's what's so good about this place, It's a Great place to be!

Is Pyramid Air just starting their "Postal Matches" now?  I don't visit their site/blog often so I don't know.  I would think that they would've had the matches awhile since they've been around quite abit.  Maybe they just needed someone to moderate their matches.....

Yes I believe so Gamo2Hammerli.  I checked out the website and only found 2 pistol matches and one more coming up.  I couldn't find any more and the ones I saw, were all dated March 2009.

Thanks Truman, I knew that:  "This is a Great Place to Be!"  And I really appreciate your support.  I voted for the "Postal Matches", but I haven't yet had the chance to participate.  My Hammerli Titan is just too hard on my back standing up, it's very heavy.  I just got a QB57 that shoots under 1/2 an inch at 11 feet, but it was so dry inside that I had to tear it down.  Like everything else my back limits my project time, but it will be ready soon, with a synthetic piston seal I hope (I plan to finish the adapter for the seal today).  I think I have spent enough money and time at the Hardware Store buying washers.  I am using a seal from a QF-2 kit.

BTW, sitting on a 5 gallon bucket does not help people shoot freehand with serious back problems any more than standing.  I just wanted to point that out; people with back problems will understand.

Best Regards

Roy I know what you mean.....my Titan is as heavy as yours......but she sure shoots excellent with the extra weight....less barrel sway while off-hand shooting.

I usually practice off-hand with the Titan in the basement....only 9 meter distance....and compete in the matches with the much lighter Crosman Storm and Gamo Viper. When I switch over from the Titan to the Storm or Viper during practice.......whoooooa.....major barrel sway.
