Bad Leapers scope?

I just recieved my leapers 3-9 X50 true strength scope and it seem to shoot great at 10 meters but at distances farther than that the AO will not focus.  I also noticed while I was trying to shoot at 20 yrds that If I had it on 5X it was a one hole hitter but when I changed to 9X it was all over the place.  I'm gonna give it another try tomorrow but if it keeps this up it's going back to pyramydair.  Anybody else have this problem before?
