BAD EXPERIENCE Josh (Joshua) Cole
« on: January 15, 2010, 11:37:33 AM »
Hate to do this but after a couple unanswered emails I feel compelled to tell my AG brothers and sisters that I personally wouldn't do business with him again.  I'll retract if he answers my emails.

I impulsively bought a Gamo Shadow from him.  Why I don't really  know other than he said it was tuned with Maccari parts, had a RFM shroud and a CDT trigger.  Geez it had three of my favorite guys on this rifle so why not?  Anyway he was responsive to emails regarding it and sent it quickly after I paid.  But here's where the story goes bad.  An oversized box seriously 8x8 comes.  As I pick up the box I get a clunk clunk.  Open it up to find he dropped the rifle in the box with no packing whatsoever!  I wouldn't send this from one city to the next let alone from Hawaii to Michigan.  So the shroud is all akilter and it won't cock reliably.  I got it to cock but had to really yank the barrel down hard.  I mean hard.   I can fix the shroud but I'm not too keen on trusting a rifle that won't cock and hold reliably.  Lord knows I caught heck for those pellet holes in the basement ceiling and wall!

So it sits over in the crap corner.  Not even close to the other stash of rifles because I'm basically *_*_*_*_*_*ed and don't want to see it and be reminded of a bad experience.  I emailed him several times over the past 6 days and guess what?  No answer.  Geez from a guy that quickly responded when he was selling, it seems odd he doesn't check his email for 6 days.

I did a search on the Yellow with his name and found another guy (Hung aka ka3ypu@verizon.net) who bought a rifle from him.  His feedback said all was cool.  But I emailed him anyway to ask how Josh packed his rifle.  Guess what...same story.  Box with no packing material.  What the heck?

Anyway, I don't take flaming someone lightly but I've given this guy a chance to respond.  I wasn't asking for anything from him just looking for a response to let him know just because someone paid for it and it isn't his that he doesn't need to be respectful of their property.  Well actually it should be his issue until shipped and quite honestly to me that means it gets packed with care like it is yours.

Geez I feel better just getting that off my chest.

Well my last email was 1/10 and still no response.  I just sent off the final email to him today.  I'm going to guess that Josh is history here.  Guess he sold off his stuff and has moved on which is a great thing for the rest of us.  Closing the chapter on this one and will start working on fixing up or parting out the rifle I got from him.

Andy....Sorry to hear about that, but that is a lack of respect and it has to be a "BRUTO" - STUPID moron to send a rifle without any inbox packing protection. He believes the delivery person takes the package and go directly to your home...... dah dah dah.... sorry man.

You know I don't like adding conversation to ads, but I'll make an exception. This guy has sold a lot on the Yellow (or, at least, he's advertised quite a bit). As a buyer, you have the right to comment about him on the BOI there. I can not, nor can anyone who hasn't done business with him, but people really ought to know if he is, indeed, shipping in such a haphazard manner. There have been several threads there on good packing practices, so he can't NOT have seen at least one of them. He's dropped his price in the Yellow classifieds a little today, but over $400 is a lot to ask for a gun that's going to be shipped naked. I kind of wondered at the seemingly low price he asked for this gun, since I knew he was in Hawaii and shipping to the mainland is rather steep. Surprised he just doesn't write your address on the butt and slap some stamps on it.

RF,

I think Josh Cole is gone for good from the forums.  Don't get him mixed up with other guys from Hawaii like Sky A or Kauai Boy.  Two different people.  Sky A is a very solid airgunner with a great rep on the boards.
