For Shady816 and B-26 issues.
« on: May 17, 2010, 05:27:31 AM »
I see where you discribe a substantial gouge in the tube of your B-26.    I have a gouge in the tubel of my B-26 that matches the one you describe 100%.     Needless to say it is disappointing as this B-26 has the same problems as yours.

Don't believe I will spring for another.  Really the only thing I like about the AG is the trigger system.

You could perhaps make a deal with Mike Melick to just buy a spare compression tube that has no problem inside the tube. Just a suggestion.

Yes sir i to was very dissapointed to see mine. it all started with the constant diesling and then to diminished power and opened her up pulled out the piston and the seal looked like a rabbit was chewing on it and sham on me for not paying closier attention i justed ran the wet dry 320 paper down her to give it some lube holding texture and new seal, lube and back together. the rifle did shoot better and then began getting inconsistent then loss of power and i pulled the gun apart and with close attention to everything this time i shined the light down the tube and found my seal eating problem.i ran a cylinder hone down it and worked it over real good but could not remove the entire issue it was way to deep so i give up though i did get it together and is shooting good for now but for sure will be a problematic seal eating machine with regular shooting activity and i'm very sorry to hear someone else got the same gun with the same issue.

to speedturtle... i'm not buying nothing for this gun but seals and i don't think mike is going to honor a replacement since i admit to having mine apart but only due to the fact that when i got it after 100 shoots it torched a seal i call me impatient but i just wasn't into shipping back and forth and also shame on me for not paying closer attention so i will cut my loses a 150 dollar loss and shoot one of my other guns and save the b26 short shooting session.

I understand your point, Sir. Your reaction was very gentlemanly. However, since it was not your fault that you were able to find out that there was in issue with the compression tube of your B26 then perhaps if Mike has some spare parts available he can make a compromise and sell it to you cheap. I have read numerous posts on many airgun forums explaining how good Mike is when it comes to helping his customers. I, for one can attest to that. I am sure that a compression tube is way less cheaper than just simply taking the whole $150.00 as a loss. Another possibility to correct the situation is to ask someone with a sonnen hone machine to re-hone the tube but the problem with this approach is that it will weaken the compression tube since a lot on the I.D. will be taken out. I'm pretty sure once Mike sees your post here he can say something about it and provide a good solution to your problem. Again, all that I have said are just suggestions Sir. :)

Thanks for the suggestions and Mike is a great guy and i'm sure he would do whatever he can to help i just don't expect for him to honor a replacement after me taking it apart and playing around in there. i also feel for Mike he obviously got a shipment of b26's that were from a bad lot since myself Bogey and snookman all ordered our b26's at the same time and all of us so far have had some kind of internal malfunction two of which had the same problem so i sure hope Mike is not having to eat cost on these guns for poor manufacturing.

Not sure if you guys remember but when I had my B26-2 apart I found my tube had a gouge in it as well. I marked it off as damaged from the spring breaking. Now I am unsure. It does shoot much better after running a cylinder hone through it though.
