I'm out of the state for the holidays but still getting my GTA fix.

I've had mine since about October of last year. I've done a home tune/lube on it and swapped the barrel from .177 to .22. I can swap them around in a few minutes. I like the .22 for hunting and the .177 for plinking and paper punching. This is a large gun. It's about 49" in length and weighs in over 10lbs with the glass. I'm 5'10" and 220lbs so I'm not a small guy. I love this gun. It's long and heavy and a REAL nail driver. It clocks CPHP at over 18fpe.

I like the way the furniture looks, the hard hitting accuracy and the fact that replacement parts are so darn cheap. I do not have a single bad thing to say about this gun.

I just got my updated model, Benjamin Trail NP XL1500, today. Unboxed it and looking it over right now. Same excellent features as it's earlier model with the addition of the nitrogen piston. Jay, I'd definately recomment the SS and I'd definately buy it again!!!!

Thank's for answer Dave I saw the post & all I coukd find on here was kind of neg. on the SS,but looked like a nice gun & the price seemed o.k. to me & I read your post on switching barrell's & thought hmmm .177 & .22 both at top speed's.weight no problem, length so so I'm only 5' 8" & 200lb's,but I think you made a sell for them.again Thank's.

The rated 1500, isn't that a bit fast for a .177 and accuracy?  Does it crack when shot?  Or must you use heavy pellets....

yes Frank it's 1500 f.p.s. rated, but you know that's with those silly p.b.a. or such thing's & I've heard every one say that they do make a crack when fired.but I will most likely use heavy's in it & take it apart when I get it (heavy grease, thrust washer's,home tune it all)& if still too much torque I'll slow it down some.ezman say's his is a tack driver,I'll find out got my finger's crossed(toe's to).and it can be switched too a .22!!

I guess you can probably get a .22 barrel from Crosman somewhat reasonable.
