More chippers!
« on: June 15, 2010, 03:42:39 AM »
Well the chippers keep coming , got one with a head shot at 20 yards off a low apple tree and the other with a side shot at 30 yards. Both with the 850  with CPHPs and were pass troughs. I got another with the Gamo (shot shell and offhand) in a willow tree at about 20 feet but as it was raining that day I didn't get a picture. ( not that its exactly big game hunting LOL)

Thanks! Yea the Gamo's great for short shots like that, I  got 4 tree rats last year and 11 chippers most with shot shells, up to about 20 feet and it put 'em all right down! The darn chippers make holes all over my lawn and get in my garage and pool shed. yes they look cute like tree rats till you turn 'em over and see the rat mouth on them LOL.

Nice shooting Dave!  Those little chipmunks are small targets and move extremely fast.  Not easy to hit.  Long live the 850! hehehe :)

Nice pics too.  I have not spotted another Chipmunk since 2 weeks ago when I got one.  I don't have that many but the neighbor does because he always has piles of wood and a big fallen tree in his backyard where the woods start.  Once in a while a youngster Chip will venture into my property and that's when I get excited   8)

Great shots and photos. Chipmunks cause a lot of damage in my yard mostly due to the fact that they like to make their holes along side of the foundation and under my air conditioner. So it's open season on those varmints.
