Shootin' Match?
« on: February 06, 2009, 10:45:16 AM »
Looks like the springer folks are getting up a match (or three) this weekend.
Any pumper people interested in one at some point in time? That is unless you're already booked up with the springer matches!  :)

Been a lot of good shooting info on the target and springer rifle gates. If those tips will work for one kind of air rifle they ought to be applicable to all types. I bet you could even shoot a smoothbore BB gun better following their tips! Well, within reason.....

I'm up for a "pumper" match Andy. I'm  gonna try my hand at the five target match, but I like this idea in the pump class rifles category, and I would like to shoot in both matches. I'll probably stink either way, but being that this one is exclusively for pumpers,...it would seem to level out the playing field somewhat. Since this seems to be an "All American" type rifle class, we could *_*_*_*_*_* everybody else off and make it a 10 Yard shoot!!!!  HeHeHeHe That's right,...standard not metric!!!! Off-hand of course, no straps, rests, etc!! LMAO. High noon tommorrow Pal!! Thomas
PS Pistols are legal too, but what target should we use????? tjk

I had a chance today to shoot a round of 4 Gamo targets at 10 meters using my Custom 1377 using RWS Basic pellets with 5 pumps per shot ; utilizing a Taco hold with my right hand on the grip and the left holding on the scope .. I'm including a picture of the pistol because I already had one , but not of the targets . You'll have to just trust me on these . hehe . Target #1 48 ; #2 47 ; #3 48 ; #4 45 for a total of 188 . the last target started off bad for some reason my first two shots were low with a 6 o'clock 7 and a jar licker 9 at 6 o'clock. may have been fatigue setting in . kirby

I've got a 1377 Crosman multi-pump pistol....When this match starts....I'd use that. And then I'll go pick up one of those Crosman multi-pump 760 rifles.....I believe you can use bb's with those....I haven't shot bb's in awhile...so it'll be bb's not pellets. No scopes on both....and 10 yards sound good. LETS GET THE MULTI-PUMPER SHOOTING MATCH GOING!!!!!!

BB guns at 10 paces!! I love it!

Maybe the springer guys could get into the action with Red Ryders?

I'll play! I got 2 1377s. One with a stock. Love em. By next weekend I'll have some targets to shoot at. I don't normally buy targets and my printer is broke so I'll spring for some.

My targets are usually Grocery Store tabloids.

See if you can shoot a mustach on the cover shot!

Pick a target and let me know.

Lets use the Gamo 5 target sheet......5 shots into 4 targets each or 4 shots into 5 targets, your choice. And at 10 yards as suggested by Tjk. Scoped or un-scoped. What say you Multi-Pumper Air Rifle shooters?.....although I'll use my multi-pumper air pistol for this round.

My entries for this shooting match are:

1377 carbine with a 1760 barrell, heavily modified, bona fide tack driver! (my most accurate airgun in the arsenal)

2289 rifle with a 2260 barrel, heavily modified, deadly up to 25 yards

Powerline 880S, another tack driver, no recoil, modded

Powerline 901, 725 fps of deadly quiet accuracy, full shroud measuring almost 20 inches

Crosman 2100B, heavily modded, accurate but very hard to pump, 715 fps

Crosman 2200B, heavily modded, 18 inch shroud, even harder to pump, 590 fps

What can I say, I love pumpers!!!!
