A Personal Shooting Match with.................
« on: February 08, 2009, 05:29:43 AM »

BSA Lightning XL .177 Versus Shadow 1000 .177 with L/W choked barrel. I could not compete in the other Target Shooting Match because I cannot stand and shoot..:( But I did manage to have a dual shoot off with my two very accurate springers.

The overall length of the Shadow 1000 is just one inch longer than the BSA Lightning XL. Both are excellent shooters, very well balanced and the best part arethere easy to shoot..:) Not hold sensitive at all.

THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

Benched....two different air rifles of the same caliber sounds good.  Unfortunately I don't have 25 yards to shoot out to....not only that, the wind picked up yesterday night....15kph to 40kph gusts.

I  thought the BSA Lighting would have a strangle hold over the Gamo Shadow....but they seem to be about the same in your capable hands.  Of course the Shadow have the L/W choked barrel!!!!!....that sure helped it.   Excellent benched shooting with both airguns.
Gamo: Expotec .177 + Big Cat .177 + Viper .177 + Whisper .177, Hammerli Titan .177, Diana model 24 .177, RWS-Diana P5 Magnum pistol .177, Crosman: G1 Extreme .177 + Storm XT .177 + Sierra Pro .177 + 1377 pistol .177, Air Arms S410SL .22, BSA Scorpion T10 .22, FX Cyclone .177, Remington Air Master 77 .177 + BB\'s,

Well Stanley, as time passed my groups get a bit wider..:) But these to springers are two of my favorite to shoot with. The BSA being at the top of my list, but I still love that Shadow..:) Not as steady as I once was but I love to shoot them and it gives me a tremendous amount of pleasure..:)

I might add that the Shadow was turbo tuned by CDT a couple years back and is still very smooth and quiet to shoot. It has about 2000 pellets through her and have not had to adjust that Simmons Pro Air since I put it on and sighted her in two years ago..:)

Holy Smoke Ron! That is some shooting! That new bench of yours beats the old bag of charcoal anyday! Was that at 25m?

Not today Truman. Got a kids B-day party happening next door so I had to shoot through the open door of my shop at 10 meters. Didn't want mad Mommas raining down on me!!!

It was drizzling rain though and the wind was kicking around making me guess on some of those shots.

Looks like early tomorrow morning for a 25yd go.
