Match this week?
« on: February 17, 2009, 02:13:34 PM »
Hey, Charlotte, are we having a match this week?  I was also wondering if it might be time to start splitting things up based on hardware and sights?  Seems like everything is happening in just this General Gate, and the others are getting neglected :-).  Just a thought, not trying to joggle your elbow, I really appreciate what you've done so far.  Later.

Can't wait for the next match(s)....I'll be shooting in the falling snow (12 inches over 3 days) though....but mild temperatures....around -2C.

For simplicity sake I kind of like just the one match, but we can pay more attention to power plant and separate the scores.  I definitely saw a jump in my score switching from the B-26 to the 853 Daisy.  I'm toying with what to shoot next, the B-40 or the FWB.
The benefits to us the shooters having this match every week are just too great to skip a week.  I was thinking earlier this morning about that.  I perceive that having a weekly prone match will have a real impact on my scores in smallbore.  I'd like to spend a little time putting a post up about shooting prone and using a sling as well as pumping from position and give everybody a week or so to get targets and slings and get used to them before having a prone match.  The fact that it's easier to shoot higher scores is what makes prone so difficult.  NRA shooter classifications are separated by one point!!!!  98.5 is low Expert score, 99.5 is low Master. Your sight picture can lie to you big time.
The last match of last season on my very last shot I shot an 8.  I was steaming!
Daisy 853 with apertures; FWB 300S with apertures; Mike Melick tuned B-26 and B-40.
