Tested the Destroyer Pellets
« on: July 12, 2007, 07:49:25 AM »
Got up early this morning and tested out the destroyer pellets in every .177 cal rifle I own.  I'm at work right now and kinda busy so I'll have to wait till later to finish this post, but suffice it to say I was very happy with the performance of this pellet.  Shot very well overall in every single one of my rifles.

Phones are ringing, will continue the post later with specifics.

Hey Ed,
I"ve been so busy at work I haven't been able to complete my post, but,,,,,, the destroyers shot very well.  The only guns that didn't like em was my 3 B-3's,,, I'm thinking the lower FPS of the B-3's didn't work well for the destroyers.  All the other rifles though spit em out with good results, a couple of rifles gave great results.  Looking forward to trying some on some critters.  Well, gotta run, another prisoner just came in the door, back to work.....

The reviews I've read for these kind of pellets is that they don't deform (mushroom) or perform well with anything under 800FPS of power, which has me worried since my recon is only 525. I still haven't put one through my barrel.

That would certainly explain why my B-3's were basically the only rifles that didn't shoot the destroyers decent.

1377 loves the destroyers
« Reply #8 on: July 13, 2007, 07:38:07 AM »
Just got done trying out the destroyer pellets in my 1377 pistol/carbine.  The little gun absolutely loves em,,, beautiful tight groups at 20 yards.  I had the red dot sighted in for predators, but just finished re-sighting it in for the destroyers.  This way I can use the pellets to hunt starlings in the backyard and see how they perform.

All 3 of my B-3's didn't like the destroyers and I figured that perhaps the pellet design didn't like slower FPS,  but the 1377 is a lower FPS gun so there's go that theory.  Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.

Let us know after the autopsy how well they mushroom in the birds using the lower powered gun
