Mike, Just Received The Poly Tube-Ice Maker Seals
« on: December 18, 2006, 06:15:02 AM »
Just got the tubing in the mail today. I would never have known what you were talking about without seeing the tubing first. My new QB78 still has some gas left in it from the first two powerlets I put in it when I first got it. Once the c02 is used up I will take it apart and try the prob mod you suggested.

I just wanted to tell you how nice it was of you to send me the tubing at no charge without me even asking.

Thanks Bill

While you have it apart, clean everything and if you haven't polished the internals you might as well the difference is quite something.

Here's a little trick to cut a straight lenght of tubing for a seal.

Just drill a 1/4 inch hole in some scrap aluminum or plastic as in my case and just push the amount you need a slice it off with your hobby knife..

Man, why didn't I think of that?  I have about 3 dozen little 1/8" pieces of UNsquarely cut icemaker tubing rolling around on my garage floor because I can't cut straight.  How slick is that, man some guys.....sheesh!

Thanks for the tip rich!

I used a piece of 1/8 inch plate stell with a hole drilled in it, to much trouble so I just cut them by eye again, at 9 cents a foot you can make a few screwups before it costs anything. After the first few hundred you get kind of good at it.
