I'll be ready next week .
« on: February 17, 2009, 02:28:29 PM »
I just got an email for a guy who sold me his Beeman R7/Bushnell Banner 3x12x40 combo. He got my money order today and the package should be here by the end of the week. I don't think it'll take me long to get it sighted in and ready to shoot in some springer matches . kirby

Glad to hear it, David, I missed you last week :-).  I bet you're going to like that R7, I didn't keep mine long enough to really give it a chance.  Come to think of it, I don't have a real good track record with Beeman rifles, it was a Beeman that finally pushed me into the Dark Side.  Nice looking rifle, BTW, looks brand new, did the former owner even shoot it?  Later.

Dave

Thanks Dave , The owner said he'd shot maybe a tin and a half through it . I missed my R7's ; they were the only light weight springers I could ever hit anything with consistently . I've got a doctors appointment tomorrow and if everything goes well , I should be ready to roll next week . kirby

OK David, cool!  Were you going to shoot the R7 on the 10-meter match or the 15-bull steroid match with the R7?  I will probably shoot my Walther on the 10-meter off-hand match, but I will break out my HW30s / .177 w/ Bushnell Trophy and shoot with you on a springer match.  Keep me posted when you are ready to shoot.

I got my R7 today, although I'm not ready or able to shoot it a lot the next couple of days . I did assemble everything and took 7 shots at 10 meters off hand . 2 sighters for hold over and poi , then a little elevation adjustment and I put 4 out of the next 5 into a clover leaf at 12 o'clock in the 10 ring. would have been 5 except for a brain fart and it went 7 o'clock 9 ring . Tommy, I'll shoot this one in any match that it qualifies for. 10 meter , off hand , prone , sitting , springer . Pictures to come later . kirby

I added one of the elastic boots with recoil pad and cheek rest to give me an extra 1/2 in LOP and a soft place to rest my cheek on my HW30s.  Very accurate little springers.  Lets do the 15 target steroid match with the R7/HW30s if you have her ready.  I noticed some variation in fps with mine due to dieseling early on.

Look out guys! I just mailed off the money for an Anshutz LG 250 match rifle! I won't have it in time this week, but next week............

I was missing not having a good match rifle.

Ron; I'm all for doing this next week . It'll give me time to be ready. I shot some outside this afternoon but still don't have my full potential back up and going . Since Tommy has both his rifles mounted with a 4x, and a 2x7 scope , we can have this a limit of 4x on the scope or open sights , if that's OK with everybody . And we need to decide on our target of choice. If I have to shoot inside I prefer the Gamo target . If the weather cooperates and I can shoot outside , I can shoot any target . I have the regular 12 spot 10 rifle target and I think I have the 15 spot target they have been using . kirby
