« on: February 18, 2009, 02:49:45 AM »
Same as before, All guns, all sighting devices, all at 10m shooting offhand (or sat on a shooting stick specially designed by mick or a 5 gallon bucket for medical reasons!!!) One entry per person, To be posted before midnight on Sunday.

The target is the '10m air rifle target' which is the 5th one down in the left hand column on this link! http://www.gamecalls.net/free_stuff/52_free_targets.html

Good luck to all and happy shooting!

P.S.
I'm trying to keep a log of how everybody is progressing, so after about the 5th match, I'll post a graph like thing! Don't worry if you haven't shoot all the matchs, I'll just add you in when you start!

I think I'm going to give you a run for your money this weekend! I don't know exactly what I did different but by the look of my last offhand practice target, I think I may get a much better score this weekend!

Wow...that's pretty good....if it was the Steriod 15 target sheet.....you would have gotten 4 or 5 of those shots into the "white".

Lets hope I can pull it together on the day! I was pleased as punch when I shot those. I was reading about keeping your head straight and bringing the gun up to your eye so I made an effort to follow it through to the letter! It really works well if you bring your trigger arm elbow down aswell! My left hand is now resting under the trigger guard almost cupping my trigger hand! I can't wait to shoot another match this weekend! Also, it looks like the 'Steroid15' may be gaining combatance. See if we can get some more people interested in this tough target this weekend!

I tried to find the rules, but I'm confused, there are no score indicators on that target.
Is it 10 to 7 rings only?
And what if you shoot in the white?

You got it right Ac12basis...    "White" is 10, then 9, 8 and outer ring is 7.  One shot per target.

So miss the 7 ring, and the shot is a 0 (ZERO)?

Its been a LONG time.
Now to see if I can keep it all within the 7 ring...I highly doubt it.

You got it, Gary, miss and it's a zero.  I felt the same way about keeping it all inside the 7 ring, and I don't, but I do a hell of a lot better than I ever would have expected to.  And I've been shooting off hand for, what, 3 weeks now?  Never gave it a serious try until this Gate and these comps started, now I'm addicted :-).  The initial thought was that this would be something to do until it warms up enough that I can shoot outside at "real" ranges again, but I think I'll continue the 10M stuff even after it warms back up.  Thanks again, Charlotte (I think!).

Hello Bill,

It all goes back to the first match when I suggested we shoot this little gem of a target. Charlotte said something like 'you guys must be on steroids to shoot that target' so the name kind of stuck. Come on in and join the fun. It's hard but sharpens up the skills no end! If you hit the target, you get either a 7,8 9 or 10 depending on which ring you hit (or clip) It's inward gauging and a maximam of 165. If you get a bull with no touching the 9 ring you get 11 points. (Nobody to date has got that yet!)
