Are the Bushy Trophies still made in Japan?

Mine is and so are a few other, I have though seen some made in Philippines as well.

Mine is made in Japan.  I bought from natchez in a fall 2008.  for less than 100 US dollars. Currently waiting for the deal to show up again.

Yep waiting for the Bushy 4-12X40 AO Trophy to come back on sale for $96.00 at Natchez... I have three of them now. I think the Peak bought a couple at that price as well. Great scopes for the money.

I just got back from pricing a Bushnell Banner and a Bushnell Trophy at my local Sportsman's Warehouse.  One was made in the Phillipines and the other in China.  I belive that the Trophy was made in the Phillipines, but it would be easy to get them mixed up.

BTW, I have a Bushnell Trophy 6-18x40 that I picked up at an estate sale this weekend that was made in Japan, and it's easily the nicest scope I've ever held in my hands.

I have three 4-12 x 40 Trophy scopes and they are easily my favorites. All three of mine are Japanese manufacture.

This isn't entirely true.  Bushnell is releasing a new line of Trophies with the DOA reticle.  They are also going to have a different housing.  But, the old Trophies are still going to be produced as well.

Thanks to everyone whom replied so far!  It seems like all Trophies in the past were made in Japan, but now some are made elsewhere.  I guess it's a sign of the times....

There is a Bushnell Trophy 6-18x40 in Classified right now. Looks to be a good deal and I'm very interested, but I'm gonna be mounting it on and RWS 350 Magnum and have some concern at to whether or not it will hold up. Any thoughts?

The Trophy scopes are great scopes for the money, about my favorites. I wouldn't recommend them for a hard recoilling springer. I think they are fine on a mid powered springer or a smoothly tuned light magnum, but I wouldn't put one on a real slugger. Mass of the scope makes a difference in how much it is affected by the enegry of recoil. The 6-18 Trophy is a bit larger scope, so it is going to have more mass that is moved in recoil.

PS: That is a good price on that Trophy in the classifieds.

Stephanie, I'm pretty sure that your alert last September was what caused me to order the Bushnell Trophy 4-12x40 scope from Natchez.

I just looked it up, it was $90 plus $13 S&H last September I kept it unused till I got the new CZ-634 (another of your recommendations).
The Natchez ad showed it to be matte, but mine is shiny black, and made in Japan. The box shows it as item 73-4124, and has copyright dates of 2006.

Further described as "Riflescope • adjustable objective • gloss • Multi-X reticle" and

• Waterproof/fogproof/shockproof
• Wide angle field of view
• Fast focus eyepiece
• Single piece tube

This scope is as nice. I sure wish I had another one. They had been on sale a couple of times, as I recall. The Bushy is brighter, clearer, and more readily and accurately adjusted than the other scopes (three BSA's and two Centerpoints) that I have owned, and I'm not sure I have ever looked through any scope that had better resolution. It is certainly sharper than my binoculars.

Someone at the NTAGM shoot said they called Natchez to ask about this scope, and were told that they were available at the $174 price, but would not go on sale again, and they were discontinued and when their stock was gone, they would not be available again. Looks like Natchez is out today.

I hope that the postings on this thread are correct (about it being available in future), this is a great scope for an air rifle, and it's just perfect form my CZ-634, wish I could replace the Centerpoint on my BAM with one. The Centerpoint 3-9 x 40 isn't bad, but it's windage and elevation adjustment seems to work in a balky and unpredictable fashion (as do my BSA's), and have a lesser overall range. The Bushnell works perfectly.
