Mrod questions
« on: March 13, 2010, 07:21:18 AM »
Thinking about ordering the .22/.25 cal in the Mrod. Everybody talks about the quietness or the accuracy, what about the  QUALITY.....THE  Bread and Butter ?

How deep is the blueing or the fit of the parts, compared to  German rifles. Is the trigger guard/trigger plastic or metal....any other plastic on rifle?

What about the stock fit/finish/checkering?

Does the air guage give correct readings?

Eric

Crosman skipped the nice metal in order to give us a PCP that is affordable. If you want a shiney barrel and breech then buy an English or German gun at twice the price...:) The MRod is in my opinion a fantastic well made PCP. I own several English German, Swedish made PCP's and as far as performance the MRod does just as well. The stocks are very nice but they lack the good wood that the otheres you mentioned have. Also the checkering is not as nice either. But again Crosman has made it possible for many who could not afford a PCP to actually be able to afford one. What other manufacturer of PCP's offers a package deal for a PCP for under $500.00? And look at the Discovery with a pump for under $400.00..  Crsoman has broken the PCP world wide open...:) I love shooting all three of my Benji PCP's...:) Just one big family...:)
THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

I would rate the overall quality (wood, metal, fit and finish, etc) on my Marauder and 2 Disco's as very good.  The bluing is nice, the wood is nice, the air gauges are accurate and all 3 of my rifles perform flawlessly with absolutely superb accuracy and power.  :)

Amazing gun, great price.. very, very quiet! Well mine has an aftermarket depinger in it.. ;) Very accurate.. I have only gone out to 70 meters with it with great success with CP pellets.

But it's going to be replaced soon by Air Arms S400 single shot version of S410! They'll battle it out..
