Disco Gets Some TLC
« on: March 14, 2010, 06:27:24 AM »

Well this is my 3rd and hopefully last Disco...:) I bit the bullet since I do not have the time anymore and bought a TKO from Mike. Also got the trigger and his new power adjuster. Last night before I come in I milled the fill cover cap to contour the TKO. Today I took her all apart and did some cleaning of the pieces. A little bit of sanding and polishing..:) First off I would strongly recommend that anyone who has a Disco tighten the small allen screw under the bolt pin. Mine was loose. Next I pulled the trigger apart and modified Mikes trigger blade. Put a two small notches on back side to hold tension spring in place. I also used a very light spring there as well. A bit of poising and then I taped and installed the two back allen screws. I rounded the end on the top one and polished it up on the end. Next was the Power adjuster mod. Mike has a new out that replaces the old end cap. The the threaded hole is much larger and he uses a plastic screw with the spring guide built onto the end. Very good idea. Once you install it you do not have to take it apart to change or modify the spring.

I modified Mikes power adjuster to my likeing and with a new heavier spring. I can adjust down to 700 fps and as high as 1200 fps with 7.9 gn Gamo Hunters. I left it set at just under 900 fps. When I get the time I will shoot it and see what the curve will look like. Probably will have to make some adjustments with spring and power adjuster. I can just pull the screw out of the back and remove the spring without taking the gun apart. That is cool...:) Here are some pics.

Dave, he been holding my Walnut Disco stock for ransome for over a month now...:) I sent him a few blanks a couple weeks ago. He is hiding out in his container these days with a cell phone that he says is in two pieces. Not even I can call him and get him to answer. If I was not so busy I would go down there and ruffle his feathers some...:)

Gene, was it an easy job or task to get to allen screw under bolt pin? I been studing the parts diagram for the Disco @ crosmans site. Thanks Gene for any help or info you could give.Hey how far are you from Greenville? I have a sister that is burried their she was a State Trooper.
Big C got her about 25 yrs or better ago.

Dave, it sits under the bolt shaft. You have to pull trigger, and top rear screw where the power adjuster is. It will slide back far enough to get to the tiny screw. Good luck.

Gene,  Do you have to have the bolt or bolt shaft out of the breech to get to this screw. I see where if I cock the rifle, it the bolt goes back against the part or screw top that cocks the rifle. Yo said it it under the bolt or cocking shaft correct? For my rifle is a stock factory disco. Sorry to be a pain. Again Thanks!!!

Yes after you do the above then unscrew the bolt handle and push the pin all the way back. Then the screw will be exposed.
