B-26 Sensitive.
« on: March 23, 2010, 10:45:38 AM »
Got  one of those B-26 AGs from MM.    Mine must be a female.   Talk about sensitive.   Hold Sensitive.  Pellet Sensitive.   You name it.  If I cuss it gets it's feelings hurt, and I have to start the shooting session all over again.   Gonna call it ( her ) Lucy.   This gal has got issues.

YOU ARE NOT KIDDING . I just got mine yesterday and i sat at the bench till midnight and thru about 200 pellets down range started switching up brands and weights to find the ONE and never did she and yes mine must be a female as well it likes to be held extremly tight to the shoulder i think the vicious recoil of this gun is the problem.

The best pellet at this time for Lucy is the RWS Supermag at 9.3 grs.    Best hold so far is held firm to tight to the shoulder with the right hand only.   Best resting area for the left hand ( or on a rest ) is 4 to 6 inches in front of the trigger guard with a light hold.      And I have to use a very light steady pull on the trigger.

Right now, Lucy is in the corner pouting.   Been shooting one of the G-1s today.

Lucy will not shoot Crosman pellets with any thing close to being called accuracy at this time.   But the next shooting session she may do fine with them.   Who knows?

Gonna keep trying.

I am assuming this as a .177 cal version. Mine like CPHP 7.9 or 10.5 grain, Benjimin Discovery HP 10.5 Grains, and the 7.2 grain Beeman Silver Bear HP, same as the Beeman coated HP's you can get from KMart or wally world. I only shot a dozen out of it before I broke it down and did a tune on it. I also took a brass screw and polishing compound on a drill to the crown.
With any of those pellets I was able to take out a 1 inch target at over 50 yards just by holding 1 mil dot high for the 7.xx grain pellets and 2 mil dots for the 10.xx grain pellets and a golf ball at 40 yards. I am zeroed in at 35. The only pellets it doesn't seem to like is the pointed ones.

DMIKEM  i only prey mine comes together as good as yours shoots because wright now anything with the name crosman on it makes her vomit all over the target. the polymag predators did not do bad at 1 inch groups at 20 yards but jsb's were a close second if you call 1 1/2 groups at 20 close. i just placed a large pellet order of a veriety of flavors she is bound to like at least one of them. superdomes,H&N FTT, gamo hunters,H&N barracuda powers got these because my cfx loves them but to heavy for a springer.

Shady,

I tell you what, I used the Beeman Bear Cubs to break in my gun and it splattered those all over the paper for the first 200 to 300 shots. Then just all the sudden they were all in an inch, then 1/2" . So I loaded it up some cleaned and lubed CPHP's and they did the same but got even tighter. Tried the CP Pointed ones and they were junk, 5 inches CtC if I was lucky. But the best stuff is the heavy CP Domes and then the Beeman Coated/Slver Bear HPs. Now it will group anything I put in it except still those pointed ones.
Clean the barrel with some goo gone or rubbing alcohol on a swab and make sure the screws are tight, then just shoot the cheapest stuff you can get through it for about 500 to 600 rounds then try to group some better pellets. I bet it will come together for you like mine did.

sweet talk-em guys !!! mine well broken in now, and will pretty much group anything i load into her. shes a little slow with an average of 690-710fps, but  she frugal and prefers walmart crosman wadcutters, or daisy wadcutters, anything heavy she balks at. once in a while, i'll tickle her with a predator.
one hole groups all day long as long as i do my part and a definite executioner on those possum types !!

Stock screws?

You probably already know this, but they can get away from ya real quick. So can the scope mount. It might just be the break-in blues, but these are frequent culprits (you know the drill, de-grease and blue loc-tite). You can also over-tighten and there are posts on "screw tuning", meaning finding the sweet spot on the stock screw torque. I am not sure it's that complicated but then I don't have your gun.

My '26 will be among the last to go. China's finest, IMO.

My B26 from Mike is a wonder too, all my friends cant believe its a chinese rifle unless they see the Made in China! It outshoots my D34 in power and is equal in accuracy! I hope you guys know and practice that artillery hold because holding it too tight would give you bad groupings. These fine women want to be treated gently!

My stock B26 .22 almost stacks nearly whatever I feed it without much variation.
Now my .177 MM tuned B26 is finicky as of now but I don't have as many shot thru it as the other.
Right now, the .177 is pretty accurate with a variety but I would have to resight to nearly every different pellet.
