Welcome to GTA Alan,,, very nice to have you with us.  

To answer your question....yes, that is a good deal.  I just bought the same rifle at Pyramydair.com for $299 which is what the going price is.  I actually got  it for $269 because I used a 10% off coupon, but th deal at Midway is still $30 cheaper.  Only bad thing about the midway deal is that you'll have to wait until May to get it.  

I love my .22 XL but I will let you know right now,,,, the stock trigger SUCKS big time and makes it very hard to extract the accuracy that the rifle has hidden behind that God awful trigger.  If you really want to enjoy the rifle and get all the accuracy you can out of it you really should order one of the GRT III replacement triggers that are sold by Bob  aka: charliedatuna.    

Look in the "Crosman Gate" on GTA to read the reviews by myself and others on the XL .22,, I think you'll enjoy the read :)
