I can't even to begin to express my anger over this!

Before some argue for the freedom of religion, assembly, or the like, there is such a thing as common sense. Or, is there such a thing in this country anymore?

I have no respect for those who planned and allowed the building of a mosque on ground zero. And, to hold the opening on the anniversary of 9/11. Am I to believe those responsible are advocating Islam as tolerate and peaceful?

I see this as nothing less than an assault on the respect deserved by the tragedy of New York and this country as a whole.

Way to go Muslim leaders New York! Instead of building a mosque, how about publicly and genuinely denouncing the aggression of the extremists?

That is beyond word's for me Stephen at least word's that the filter here wouldn't delete!we truely are sad to even think of such a thing & if it's allowed I pray to my GOD that it is destroyed in a way that is as destuctive to way of life as they did us,Then we can dance in the street's as they did!!!But police would not protect us as they did them ,They would arrest us instead!!!such a sad commentary of our country's twisted P.C.,bend over backward's to every one but us way.

They tear down the Cross in the Mojave Nation Preserve, send kids home wearing U.S. flag shirts on Cinco de Mayo, remove the Ten Commandments monument on the lawn of an Oklahoma courthouse, even remove "In God We Trust" from some of our currency...yet, we further insult our own country by allowing a religion to build a  "place of worship" right on top of the very place Americans (Muslims, too) where killed in the name of that very religion. A religion who leaders, has never been vocal on any sort of meaningful disapproval of such acts.

Think they would allow a Japanese memorial 10 years after Pearl Harbor?

And, another question? What do you think the city will have to pay for the extra security of that mosque? I am sure the people of New York are going to love knowing there tax dollars are going to be used for that!

I also wanted to state, this in no way demeans many law abiding, God-fearing, and respectful people who worship Islam. It is not the fault of a religion, but the perverted interpretation of man that is at fault. But, where is the compassion to understand that maybe a better place would be in order to build one's mosque? As a Roman catholic, I certainly would understand apprehension of the public if the Church decided to get into the day care business these days! Some wounds need to heal. Whether the unpopular climate for Islam in our country is right or wrong, I am dumbfounded by the lack of insight and compassion.

It's just common sense. And, we don't have much anymore, I guess.

I make NO back step for being a follower of Christ,I have been in those country's when they fought russian troop's,I've trained them, ate with them,I've been back even before this war started with us !! They hated us then,they hate us now,not only because we are the U.S. but because we follower's of christ are infidel's and BY the law's of islam we must be converted or gotten rid of so that they may bring back a suppossed world of peace.You must judge a way of life by the major number of the follower's & from what I saw & watched them do an heard what they say I believe they will not stop,it has not for thousand's of year's for them,some are at peace with us yes & I do believe all should follow what they believe freely,but not at MY cost there has to be a line drawn some where,we as a people & a country are about lost that is the sad fact's.like you said common sense,which we are lacking is what we need.A tree may bend to the wind but if the base of it is weakened or broken all is lost,we have allowed our branch's to spread to far to cover to much an our base is cracking before our very eye's,when do we as a people trim them back to save the majority? Big Bill you are right everyone should READ what the book of islam SAY's,not just wonder or believe that it is a following of peace,because it is NOT!!! The only reason to build a Mosque, at the 9-11 site, is show the world what will happen to those that do not except Islam !

The only difference between the "radical Muslims" and the Muslims is: The radical Muslims will KILL the Muslims unless they follow the teachings if their interpretation of the Koran .
