Does it exist or I’m just wasting my time?

I have several good springers that I’m really happy with; accurate and reliable.  Several months ago I started saving for a PCP at the same time doing some online research about that reliable and QUIET pcp.  Quietness is what I’m looking for.  How quiet? Well when it is shot at max power it is quieter than Beeman R-7.  I also consider all the Crossman and Remington nitro air rifles medium loud and no close to being low noise, I actually believe that any of my R-9’s is quieter than any of these nitros.

I looked at the Marauder, Evanix, AA, and the FX.  I noticed that with the first two people are coming across different glitches with alignment, baffles, stock, and such.  On some other instances I read about Evanix owners finishing the work that the factory did not finish while some are loud despite the shrouded barrel.  I do not want that.  The lowest price on a mid price full pcp combo will cost well over $1000.00, so I only expect it to shoot at least as smooth and flawless as my Beeman’s and HW’s do.  The AA are actually loud when shot at max power.  The FX Royal, for its energy level, is still loud, others are just as loud.  The question is: does a really quiet pcp exisit or I’m just wasting and I should purchase the Beeman R-1 carbine 0.20 (when available)?

I've the .177 FX Cyclone, .22 BSA Scorpion T-10 and .22 Air Arms S410SL carbine.  I can report that on high power the Cyclone and Scorpion are very quiet....I can just hear the "ping" of the hammer hitting the valve (?) inside the rifle.  On the other hand the AA carbine is loud....at least for me.  When shooting in my backyard I don't over 1/2 power with the AA.  I've read that the regular length model is quiet too....

Sam, the Marauder (.22) is quieter than the R7, and is a very well-made and accurate rifle. Early production models may have had issues (mine didn't) but those seem to be worked out. I actually made a video on YouTube comparing the Marauder to an R7 and it is probably still up there.

The Marauder caused a lot of controversy because it was American. Some wanted it to succeed, some wanted it to fail. Objectively considered, it is a lot of air rifle for the money and the vast majority of owners are happy with them.

Like almost any gun it can be improved further with mods, if you're so inclined. When it shoots, you do get a tiny "ping" sound from the air tube (which would be drowned out by unmoderated air rifles). There are simple DIY depinger mods or you can buy a drop in solution for 20-30 bucks.

I would recommend finding one you can try a few shots with. I think you would be impressed.

I agree with Dave. The Marauder is a very quiet shooter and is quieter than any of my other PCP's  and R-7...

First time i shot my new .22 M_rod ,i thought is was broke,i shot it in home and wife didn,t here it :)  And the little ping noise,i feel you should here something,just to let you know you shot it.I shot 3 squirrels in same tree,one by one they fell without alerting the others. :)

The Marauder still have some glitches, the last I heard was the shroud or the baffles as some like to call them.  Just read the following blog under shroud straightened http://airgun-academy.pyramydair.com/blog/.  Also another person in a different forum pointed out a similar problem.  As far as the AA410, yes even the full length version is loud at max power just read a recent reviewer at PA.  I was told by two AA410 owners that their rifles were loud at full power; one added it was as loud as RWS 48.

The shroud is not bent, the barrel band gets knocked out of position during shipment.
I don't even use one.
Great rifle for the money, no louder then a normal conversation.

I did a post on here comparing the Marauder and the Evanix Blizzard. All else in consideration I would choose the Blizzard. Much nicer, more power and so little difference in sound during firing between the two it isn't worth worrying about.

You might ask those who have the newer Rainstorm and other shrouded Evanix models. Theirs will be newer than mine.

I think your dreams are close to being realized. Just about everybody lists the things you have as very important. Of course accuracy, dependability, etc.
and now quietness has come to the forefront. The manufactures are listening and doing a better job, for the most part, of getting us what we desire. I am
still waiting for my dream gun, but I have come very close with the Edgun. I am still dissapointed with the QC issues at Crosman and Evanix. For the money
I think you will have to spend just as much on them in the end to get them where you want, so why not save a little more and get an FX, Daystate, or Edgun?
I have read 6 reviews in different places on the Evanix Rainstorm and all complain of the inletting and the action not fitting in the stock. I mean are you kidding???  
If your looking at Theoben, great quality, but expect to pay alot more for features already on most guns. The AA s410 is loud on FAC
power as is the Royale. I 'm talking loud compared to Marauder levels, but you can always get an after market
mod or shroud for silent shooting.

i believe they fixed the baffle problems 1 out of 100 might need to be tweeked but for what the gun cost i dont think you can go wrong ive had no problems with mine and have shoot a few thousand pellets

as far as sound i think some people need to realize that anything with that much power is going to make some noise,i hate even calling it noise because it really is a very quiet gun.no gun is SILENT

as far as QC crosman is only getting better and if you do have any problems with your gun they are very good at repairing or replacing your gun.

What's mainly holding me back about the Marauder is there was (is) some issues with accuracy and many attributed it to the factory barrels either not being choked, crowned or whatever.  So the early fix was for some was to send their M-Rod off to Greg Davis and have him replace the Crosman barrel with a Lothar Walther. Some people just sold the rifle and called it good. Obviously that and any other tuning he did ads to the price, he got back logged with work and some were/are waiting for weeks for their rifles. Now Crosman is going with an aftermarket barrel made by Green Mountain (or something like that). Now the M-Rod may be the quietest PCP every made and a great value, but if it ain’t accurate, or there is a greater than average chance that the one I would receive could have accuracy issues, I don’t want it. I don’t want to gamble.  Don’t get me wrong, I want a Marauder. I want it to be successful. I’m just hesitant to order right now.

The clipping issue was on the .22's. And yes Crosman resloved it with larger holes in the baffles. If you are having clipping issues, Crosman will replace the baffles for free.

My Maruader has no accuracy issues other than the guy behind the trigger...:) It shoots just as accurate for me as my AA 410 which was almost $500.00 more..:(

Come on guys that's like saying your friend got into an accident driving down a certian road so you're not going to drive down that road till the fix it. I've seen problems with the high end guns as well. Spend the money buy it from PA, if you dont like it send it back and get your money back. You will die before ever seeing the perfect gun unless you build what you want.

Honestly I could leave it at that and say no more....But this i know for sure Sometimes in life you gotta take chances, otherwise you will just be that guy always saying..
