Best laser and light?
« on: August 16, 2007, 01:57:14 AM »
I'm planning on putting a laser and maybe a light on my Talon.  I'm worried about needing to get a shot off at 3:00 AM, at something going after my chickens.  The 44 Mag scope I have on it is great, but not so good by star light :-).  I like the idea of a laser, but beam spread has me concerned.  Anticipated range is 20 to 40 yards.  I zero my scope at 30 yards, would probably set the laser the same, or should I?  Which color is best, red or green?  What other specs should I be looking for?

I'm also interested in a light, preferably compact and light weight but powerful.  Suggestions?

I have one of the Gamo Varmint Hunter sets, but the light's a joke, and the whole thing mounts to the scope.  I don't want to do that.  Plus I don't care for the pressure activated switches, neither one works that well.  Portland John posted on TOG about a light setup he's working on, looks like he's onto something cool, but the UK is just a bit out of range.  Thanks in advance, people.

Dave
