B-Square Spring Compressor

Has anyone used a B-Square Spring Compressor or dose everyone build thier own?  If you buy the B-Square it is supposed to come with instructions on how to use it for most air guns.  I found it at SWAF for $114.95 but I think I'd rather save that money for parts and lube and build my own.  It is tempting to get one ready to go with instructions.

I built my own, as did most everyone else. There are several ways to build one, there's a guide in the Library, on how to build one. Mine is a little different than most, but it gets the job done and cost less than $10, I had most of the stuff laying around. Gene built a nice compressor awhile back, due a search on compressors and you'll find alot of info. Here's mine.

I see your's looks similar to the B-Square compressor and Gene's looks alot like CDT's.   but what's a guy gotta do around here to get measurements????? :)

Hey Dave,

  CDT gives some measurements on his the rest you can figure by using the air compression tube from one of you own guns and adjusting where the pieces go.

I bought the bsquare compressor at the time when I was a newby and I had the money. Its really an all purpose compressor that is all metal, excellent engineering, and looks cool. If I needed one today I'd have to build one, but I love my bsquare.

David all you gotta do is ask.
The 2 end blocks are 24" apart, the piece in the middle can be slid, back and forth depending on rifle. I have 2 nuts jammed together to turn it by and another nut in the block of wood. It has plenty of room for the longest of preload. The notch in the center board is 1 1/4" wide and the one on the end is 3/4" wide. The notches are deep enough that the rifle will sit straight with the piece of all thread. HTH

David, I built mine from using a Shadow 1000. I allowed for shorter and longer actions. The S1K was my starting point. It is about the average length air rile. As time passed and I began to do more and more tunes on air rifles that were longer and shorter, I made spacers and blocks out of plywood and hardwood. Sometime I even have made some aluminum spacers. There is always another way to skin a wabbit so when you get ready to tune you air rifle and take the stock off. Use the action as your guide. That is a start. But I do think there is a spring compressor plan in the library that gives some measurements.

Thanks guy's for all the suggestions...I think I have destroyed a corner of the rain forest printing all the plans and info on spring compressor's and tuning up air guns...LOL
